Historically rich, Paris 2 Pantheon-Assas University is heir of the former Faculté de Droit et de Sciences Economiques de Paris, once comprising the Sorbonne and located in the heart of the Latin Quarter since the 13th century.
Considered as France’s first Law university and very well-known among many foreign countries, University Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas is dedicated to upholding the tradition from which it arose, preserving, yet ever-striving to raise its level of excellence with respect to all fields of Laws.
The LL.M. (Legum Magister – Master in Laws) in International Business Law includes 210 hours of teaching and accommodates approximately 30 trainees over a period of one academic year.
The seminars deals mainly with practical case studies and certain key subjects, with a pluridisciplinary focus. The LL.M. prepares students and professionals for operations such as large acquisitions or market transactions, crossborder mergers, complex financing, restructuring, LBOs, financial engineering, and industrial projects.

The LL.M. AWArDS, which is held entirely in English and is devoted to international (commercial and investment) arbitration and the settlement of international commercial disputes, is an ideal combination of lectures given by academics specializing in arbitration or international litigation, as well as experienced and renowned practitioners. With the support of this high-quality teaching team, the lectures will be divided into core courses on arbitration, specialization courses, including courses on some of the major sectors involved in international arbitration and dispute resolution, elective courses and practical workshops.
Offered in Paris, the historical heart of the development of international arbitration, in close proximity to the main European arbitration institutions, to the best practitioners and specialized academics who have contributed to the worldwide reputation of international arbitration and its law, the LL.M. will also rely on the contribution of foreign academics and practitioners, in particular through various conferences.
The University headquarters are situated in Paris 5th district, Place du Panthéon.
The LL.M. International Business Law’s courses will mostly take place at the Centre Assas, built in the beginning of the 1960s and renovated in 2016, a 30 000 square meter campus in the heart of Paris, next to the jardin du Luxembourg. The LL.M. AWArDS’s courses will mostly take place in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés District, at the Institut de droit comparé (28 rue Saint-Guillaume). For both programmes, Students will also have the opportunity to be hosted for certain courses in the Law firms of some of the teaching staff members.
